One of the northwest's leading crafts galleries - The Arc contemporary craft gallery is housed in an 18th century brick and timber warehouse, not very far from Chester’s medieval Cross. Our building is greatly admired by many visitors and also creates a beautiful backdrop for the varied contemporary work we show, by designers and makers from all corners of the British Isles.
With special emphasis on ceramics and textiles, jewellery and leather, The Arc is also a rewarding hunting ground for the unusual gift or special present.
Selection of work is based upon craftsmanship, and the skills that reveal the qualities of the chosen material, light through glass, glaze on clay, the grain and weight of wood, the curve of acrylic or spun pewter. Jewellery is selected for wit and wearability, fashion and interior textiles for the glorious richness of colour and imagination.
The Arc is a long established gallery and shop with a friendly atmosphere.
The Arc is open additional days/hours during December -Sundays 11am - 4pm & late night on Thursdays until 7.30pm.
